China's four major academies: Yingtianfu Academy, Yuelu Academy, Bailudong Academy and Songyang Academy.
Yingtianfu Academy
Yingtianfu Academy, also known as Yingtian Academy, Suiyang Academy, Nanjing Academy, Nandu Academy and Nanjing imperial academy, is located in the south lake of Shangqiu Ancient City, Suiyang District, Shangqiu City, Henan Province. It is the predecessor of Suiyang Academy, which was founded by Yang Yun, a native of Shangqiu in the late Jin Dynasty. It was the highest institution of higher learning in the Northern Song Dynasty.
Yuelu Academy
Yuelu Academy is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of Xiangjiang River in Changsha, Hunan, a famous historical and cultural city in China. As one of the oldest universities in the world, its ancient traditional academy buildings have been completely preserved so far, and every group of courtyards, every stone tablet, every brick and every wind lotus is shining with the humanistic spirit tempered by time.
Bailudong Academy
Bailudong Academy is located at the southern foot of Wulaofeng Mountain in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It has a history of more than 1 years. Bailudong Academy has such architectural attractions as Imperial Book Pavilion, Mingluntang, Bailudong and Sixiantai.
Songyang Academy
Songyang Academy is located at the southern foot of Songshan Mountain, 2.5 kilometers north of Dengfeng City, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. It is backed by Junji Peak and faces Shuangxi River. It is named Songyang Academy because it is located in the sun of Songshan Mountain. Founded in the eighth year of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 484), it was called Songyang Temple. The Tang dynasty changed to Songyang view.
It was converted into Taiyi Academy in the last week of the Five Dynasties. In the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty to Daoism (996), it was changed to "Taishi Academy" and was given a printed copy of Nine Classics. In the second year of Song Jing (135), it was named Songyang Academy.
