You may be curious why the word "Ling" was added, because there was a TV series "Ling Tangyuan" in the early 1990s, which talked about the old name "Ling Tangyuan" (except for TV series, it was basically called "Lin Tangyuan"). After the TV series was broadcast, several manufacturers competed for the trademark "Ling", but Sanquan Company failed to grab it, and later registered "Sanquan Ling".
Therefore, "Sanquanling" is the trademark of Tangyuan in Sanquan Company, not a subsidiary. Sanquan also has other dumplings such as "New Tangyuan" and "True Love Tangyuan". However, jiaozi is directly called "Sanquan jiaozi", and there is no such thing as "Sanquan Lingjiaozi" at present.
