How did Shennong, who tasted all the herbs, die? Is he poisoned?
Shennong tasting a hundred herbs is the oldest myth in China. It is said that Shennong, one of the ancestors of China, personally tasted all kinds of herbs for the health of all sentient beings in the world, and wrote the first Chinese medicine book Shennong Herbal Classic in China.

Shennong is one of the famous Yan emperors in Huang San. Legend has it that this is because the dragon was born in the cave of Lieshan, and it is a bull's head. Because of his special appearance, hard work and courage, he was favored as a tribal leader when he grew up. Because his tribe lives in the hot south, it is called Yandi, and everyone calls him Yandi. Once, he saw a bird with seeds in its mouth, so he invented the five-grain crop. Because of this outstanding contribution, everyone also called him Shennong!

According to legend, in ancient times, people got sick and didn't know what to do. They have to rely on their own physical strength to support them. Some of them can't support them, so they have to wait for death. But who would have thought that the garden of heaven and earth, with strange flowers and plants, might be able to cure diseases and decided to fall from the sky. Shennong boarded the heaven, holding a big bouquet of Yao grass. Just before he left, he met heaven and earth. Heaven and earth said that Yao Cao could not cure many people's diseases at all, and gave him a magic whip. Whiplash can identify whether it is poisonous or not, from which the herbs in China come.

One day, Shennong saw a leaf. He happened to be thirsty, so he picked a few pieces and chewed them in his mouth. This kind of chewing really quenches thirst. Shennong continued to pick and choose. Suddenly, he felt something rubbing up and down in his stomach. He found that his stomach was transparent and saw Xiao also wash his unwashed clothes. After this discovery, he happily came to the conclusion that this small leaf can quench thirst and detoxify. He decided to change the whip medicine into a flavor medicine and interpret it with this leaf to prevent poisoning. He called this lobule "Cha". Later people read "tea" as "tea" In this way, Shennong tasted all the herbs and returned to Lieshan. Every time he was poisoned, it was thanks to tea that saved him.

On this day, he suddenly found a vine with yellow flowers on the tree. The leaves will shrink one by one. Shennong is very curious and picks some leaves and chews them in his mouth. Who knows that this is a very toxic herb called kidney tea. Shennong died before he could taste tea and detoxify.

How Shennong died in the end, we have no way to prove it. Historical records are also controversial. But it is absolutely true that Shennong tasted a hundred herbs. He not only tasted wheat, rice and sorghum, but also solved people's food and clothing. And tasted 365 kinds of herbs, and wrote "Shennong Herbal Classic" to treat diseases for people all over the world. In order to commemorate Shennong's achievements in tasting a hundred herbs and benefiting the world, later generations named the forest where he tasted a hundred herbs Shennongjia.

The cause of Shennong's death is not important, what is important is that his merits of benefiting the world are worth learning and remembering by future generations.
