Hengcheng Ferry is An ancient Yellow River crossing existed as early as the Western Xia Dynasty, and was called Hue Crossing at that time. Thirty miles to the west is Xingqing Mansion, the capital of Xixia. Because there is a place in the north of Hengcheng named Huangshazui, Hengcheng Ferry was also called "Huangsha Ancient Ferry" in the Ming Dynasty.

Predecessors once described the busyness of the Huangsha Ancient Ferry: "The river flows eastward from Kunlun, and the turbid currents rush over the mountains to catch the waves at dawn. Pedestrians coming and going make noisy crossings, just because they have less time to spare for fame and fortune." The yellow sand and green fields around the Huangsha Ancient Ferry, the beacon tower and the Great Wall, the Yellow River and the ferry, the beach and the grass, the garrison soldiers and the ferrymen all form a unique scenery outside the Great Wall.

3. King of Xixia Mausoleum

The Xixia Royal Tomb is located at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, about 30 kilometers west of Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is the royal mausoleum of the Western Xia Dynasty. Within the mausoleum area of ??53 square kilometers, there are nine imperial mausoleums and 253 accompanying tombs. It is one of the largest and most complete imperial mausoleums in China. In 1988, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national key scenic spot. It is known as the "mysterious miracle" and "Oriental Pyramid" by the world.

Each cemetery is a complete building group, with turrets at the four corners. There are gates, stele pavilions, outer city, inner city, dedication hall, and spiritual platform in the garden. It is surrounded by sacred walls and covers an area of ??100,000 square meters. It covers an area of ??more than 100,000 square meters. After the Yuan Dynasty destroyed Xixia in 1227 AD, the tombs were robbed and destroyed, but a large number of decorations, porcelain and other funerary objects were still unearthed during excavations.

There is a 40-meter-inclined tomb passage above the tomb chamber, and the tomb chamber is buried about 25 meters underground. Unlike traditional Chinese imperial tombs, the tomb has no bricks, and the top of the tomb passage is covered with fish-ridge-shaped earth. Before the platform was destroyed, it should have been a tower-like structure with wooden eaves. Such unique features make Xixia even more mysterious. The remaining mausoleums are like huge honeycombs buckled on the ground. The Helan Mountain without any variegated colors sets off these loess witnesses quite spectacularly. A statue hall was built in the courtyard to the north of the imperial mausoleum, which recreates the history of Xixia with statues, paintings and text explanations. To the east of the statue hall is the two-story Xixia Exhibition Hall, which brings together the splendid culture of the vast territory of the Xixia during its heyday.

There are currently two mausoleums that can be visited: the "Mausoleum of King Hao" and the "Shuangling Tombs". In order to recreate the charm of the past, sound and light devices have been installed in the mausoleum area. Whenever night falls, everything is silent, and the yellow and blue lights emitted from the ground shine on the mausoleum, turrets and sacred walls, like a mythical world.

Visitors can take a horse-drawn carriage to enter the mausoleum area from the east, visit the cemetery ruins, and watch "King of Xixia" and other laser videos introducing the history of Xixia. In addition, the Xixia Museum, the Xixia History and Art Museum, the Xixia Forest of Steles and other scenic spots that can show the profound history and culture of the Xixia have been built here.
