Trademarks: can be divided into text trademarks, graphic trademarks, combination trademarks, commodity trademarks, service trademarks, joint trademarks, and defensive trademarks.
Word trademarks
refers to trademarks that are purely composed of words (Chinese characters, Chinese pinyin, ethnic minority characters and foreign characters or letters) and numbers. Usually it refers to a trademark that is composed of only words, letters, numbers and their combinations according to the six elements of trademark combination stipulated in Article 8 of the Trademark Law.
Graphic trademarks
A logo composed of geometric figures or other patterns and used on goods or services. The use of graphic trademarks not only facilitates identification, but also has the disadvantage of being inconvenient to call. Graphic trademarks are not restricted by language. No matter what country they are in, consumers can recognize the brand simply by looking at the picture. However, graphic trademarks are difficult to call, especially more abstract graphic trademarks. Since they do not have a specific title, they hinder people's oral communication, are inconvenient for advertising, and affect the sales of goods.
Combined trademark
A combination of text and graphics, used as a mark on goods or services. The combination trademark has the advantages of rich pictures and texts, vivid image, eye-catching, easy recognition, and convenient call. However, the combination of text and graphics must be coordinated, and the central idea expressed must be clear. Do not use the text of an ox in conjunction with the pattern of a horse, which will make consumers confused. This kind of combination trademark with an unprominent central idea and lack of distinctiveness not only confuses consumers, but also makes it difficult for applicants to obtain approval for registration when they submit such trademark registration applications.
Commodity trademarks
The words, graphics or other words used by producers or operators of goods in order to distinguish the goods they produce or operate from those produced or operated by others. combination logo. Product trademarks can be words, graphics, or a combination thereof that have a certain meaning or have no meaning at all. Like other trademarks, as long as it does not violate the prohibition clauses of the law, does not harm public morals or the interests of others, and has the distinctiveness of a trademark, it can become a commodity trademark.
Service trademark
A mark used by operators who provide services to distinguish the services they provide from those provided by others. Also called a service mark. Like product trademarks, service marks can be composed of words, graphics, letters, numbers, three-dimensional logos and color combinations, as well as combinations of the above elements. In economic activities, the "products" of some enterprises are not provided to consumers as tangible goods, but as services of a commercial nature to meet consumer needs. Such as travel services, repair services, insurance services, entertainment services, transportation services, postal and telecommunications services, etc. Such different "products" provided by different companies also need different marks to distinguish them. For example, China's "Civil Aviation", Britain's "British Airways", Germany's "Lufthansa", etc., all provide the same service, but each has a different service mark.
