How to deal with uneven tire wear
1. Analysis of the causes of sawtooth tread pattern.
(1) The zigzag consumption of tire tread pattern refers to the stepwise consumption of a single tire tread pattern block. Seen from the wheel rotation direction, the front of the tread block is larger than Kobuko (see Figure 1).
it's more vivid.
(2) Sawtooth consumption of tire tread blocks:
Reason: Sawtooth consumption of tire tread blocks is caused by uneven deformation of the blocks on the tire tread after contacting the ground. The tread blocks on new tires are more prone to zigzag consumption, because each new tread block is higher in height and more elastic, and it is more prone to uneven deformation when it contacts the ground, resulting in zigzag consumption of tread patterns.
application: the obvious zigzag consumption of tire tread pattern will cause high tire rolling noise. Generally, the zigzag formation of tires on non-driving wheels (rear wheels) is more obvious than that on driving wheels (front wheels).
2. The factors leading to uneven tread blocks include:
① the toe-in value is too large;
② the tire pressure is incorrect;
(3) sharp turns or frequent driving in extremely sharp corners;
④ the road surface is rough and uneven.
when the vehicle is driving at high speed or the road surface is uneven, the higher tread blocks of new tires are prone to zigzag consumption due to their greater elasticity. After a period of use, with the decrease of tread depth, the stiffness of tread blocks will gradually increase, and the formation of sawtooth consumption will also decrease.
3. Solution:
Generally speaking, sawtooth consumption may occur in both front and rear wheels. In front-wheel drive vehicles, sawtooth consumption is more likely to occur on the rear wheels. For the sawtooth consumption of non-unidirectional rotating tires, please take the following solutions:
(1) Check the four-wheel alignment parameters of the vehicle regularly, especially the toe-in value. Check according to the positioning data of each car provided by the manufacturer after sale. At the same time, before the inspection, pay attention to whether the air pressure of each tire meets the standard and make appropriate adjustments.
(2) In order to avoid sawtooth consumption and tire rolling noise, wheel cross transposition should be carried out regularly; If sawtooth consumption has occurred and tire rolling noise occurs, it is necessary to carry out wheel cross-shifting: right front → right rear → left front → left rear → right front (people sit in the cab as a benchmark to determine the left and right front and rear), which can reduce the aggravation of sawtooth consumption.
4. Precautions after cross-transposition of tires:
(1) After cross-transposition, the rotation direction of tires changes. At the beginning, the rolling noise of tires was serious (therefore, it is recommended to cross transposition at the initial stage of zigzag consumption). Generally, driving for about 5-1km will gradually return to normal.
(2) After cross transposition, the front and rear tire pressures must be adjusted in time, and the tire should be dynamically balanced accordingly.
5. Conclusion:
(1) The zigzag wear of tire tread is not a defect, but a completely normal wear feature. After regular cross transposition, tire rolling noise can be completely eliminated. In order to ensure that the service life of the front and rear tires is relatively consistent, it is required to replace the tires every 8, km to 1, km. If signs of premature zigzag consumption are found, the frequency of tire transposition should be increased.
(2). Because the design of modern tires must meet the highest safety standards, even on wet roads. Therefore, this kind of grooved tread and high elastic and soft tread blocks will inevitably lead to sawtooth consumption of tire tread patterns.
3. The zigzag consumption of tire tread pattern is a normal consumption phenomenon, not a fault, which is not within the scope of quality assurance.
What do you think of tire wear marks
On the shoulder of the tire, a ""is printed on the half of the circle, which is a warning sign of tire wear. According to the regulations, tire manufacturers must set wear indicators on the crown, that is, a boss with a height of 1.6 mm is set axially along the bottom of zebra groove at the half circumference of the tire. When the tire mark is worn to 1.6 mm from the bottom of the groove, obvious cracks appear in some grooves, prompting the driver to replace the tire. In addition, the tire wear indicator is the basis for checking whether the tire is worn normally.
In order to facilitate the search, a mark ""is printed on the indentation with the wear indicator buried in the tire shoulder to remind the owner that the tire wear indicator is set at this position of the tire mark. This kind of symbol printed on automobile tires is learned. Other symbols include tire trademarks, specifications and overloading codes printed on the side impressions of automobile tires.
In our country, the tread wear of cars is 1.6mm, and that of trucks and buses is 2.mm. It has been proved that when the tread wear is less than 1.6mm in the groove, there will often be slippage, which will increase fuel consumption, not only affect the handling of vehicles, but also easily lead to traffic accidents. Proper use of tires can not only prolong the service life of tires, but also be a key factor for safe driving of automobiles. Therefore, it is very important for the owner to understand the marks on the tires and use them correctly.
