The patriotic spirit of Jingwu has been praised by the world. Mr. Sun Yat-sen attended the third sports meeting held by Jingwu in 1915 and affirmed the achievements of Jingwu in his speech at the meeting. In 1920, he participated in the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Jingwu Association. At the same time, he wrote the preface for the special commemorative issue of Jingwu, "The Chronicles of Jingwu", and inscribed a horizontal plaque with the words "Martial Spirit" to encourage him. After Shanghai was liberated in 1949, Jingwu actively participated in labor force activities. Marshal Chen Yi commended Jingwu with the inscription "Model Labor Force" for him. Ching Wu was the first organization to promote traditional Chinese martial arts to society. Jingwu is the first association in the sports world to propose that "you can't travel far without literature" and advocates the idea of ??civility and martial arts. Ching Wu was the earliest sports club to teach traditional Chinese martial arts overseas in an organized and purposeful manner. After the founding of New China, with the changes in the system, Jingwu sent a large number of talents to the country and Shanghai. In early 1950, the Chinese Martial Arts Association was established in Shanghai, with Xu Zhi of Jingwu as the chairman and Chen Xuliang as the vice chairman. In October 1951, a professional football team was established in Shanghai. Chen Chengda, Fang Renqiu and Zheng Deyao from Jingwu were selected. In January 1954, the "August 1st" team was established. Chen Fulai and Wang Guoguang from Jingwu were selected as the main players. Soon Chen Fulai, Chen Chengda and Fang Renqiu were selected. In 1966, the Hongkou District People's Government approved funds to overhaul the Jingwu Central Hall to give it a completely new look. The Yan'an East Road branch house was transferred to other uses, and Jingwu was arbitrarily renamed "Yaowu Gymnasium" and "Jingwu Gymnasium" successively.
In 1978, Jingwu began to resume its activities. In order to promote martial arts, expand its influence and reshape the image of Jingwu, Jingwu extensively contacted former Jingwu coaches, members, and people in the martial arts and boxing circles to promote it.
