There are currently 74 geographical indications for agricultural products in Yunnan Province. Including 52 planting and primary processing products, 21 livestock and poultry products, and 1 aquatic product.

It is reported that more than 2,000 agricultural product varieties across the country have obtained the title of geographical indication. 1. Xuanwei ham

There are three famous hams in Yunnan, namely Xuanwei ham, Heqing round ham and Bai Nuodeng ham.

Xuanwei ham is one of the famous Han specialties in Yunnan Province. It is named after it is produced in Xuanwei County. Its quality is good enough to represent Yunnan ham, so it is often called "Yunnan ham". At the beginning of the 20th century, Dr. Sun Yat-sen wrote the inscription "Drink and Eat Virtues" for it. Since then, it has become famous and has been exported to Hong Kong, Singapore and other places.

2. Pu'er tea

Pu'er tea belongs to dark tea. It was named because its place of origin was formerly Pu'er Prefecture in Yunnan (today's Pu'er City). Pu'er tea can be divided into raw tea and cooked tea. Raw tea is naturally fermented, while cooked tea is artificially ripened. The appearance is brownish-red in color, the inner substance is bright red in color, the aroma is unique and fragrant, the taste is mellow and sweet, and the bottom of the leaves is brownish-red.

"The older it gets, the more fragrant it becomes" is recognized as the biggest feature that distinguishes Pu'er tea from other teas. Unlike other teas, which are more valuable because of their newness, Pu'er tea is more valuable because of its "oldness", which tends to gradually appreciate in value over time.

3. Wenshan Panax notoginseng

Wenshan, Yunnan is the main producing area of ??Panax notoginseng. This is determined by Wenshan’s unique geographical location and conditions such as light, heat, water, soil, and air.

Panax notoginseng is a plant of the genus Panax in the family Araliaceae. It belongs to the same family as ginseng. 4. Fuyuan Konjac

Amorphophallus, also known as konjac, is a perennial herb of the genus Konjac in the family Araceae. Yunnan is known as the "Kingdom of Plants" due to its unique geographical environment and climatic conditions. There are 17 varieties of konjac, accounting for 63% of the country's konjac germplasm resources. Fuyuan mainly produces flower konjac varieties, which are of good quality and color. They are regarded as high-quality products by the Konjac brand and have set a record of 11 tons per mu.
