The European Union was founded in 1993. At first, there were only six member States. With the increasing influence, more and more European countries began to join the European Union. Up to now, with 27 member countries, it is the most influential regional organization in the world, which has already posed a threat to the United States economically. Seeing the success of the EU, some people may ask why it is so difficult for Asia to have such an organization.
The first point: there are great differences among countries.
Everyone has the impression that there are many countries in Europe. In fact, there are only 44 countries in Europe, but they are all small countries, so they give people more impressions. But most of them are of the same ancestry and believe in Christianity, so they are a family in themselves. On the other hand, in Asia, because of its large land area, many countries and great cultural differences, especially in East Asia, West Asia, Central Asia and South Asia. There is also a Russia that calls itself a European country. Most of its territory is in Asia, which has a great influence on the situation in Asia, because it is difficult for Asia to unite for various reasons.
In addition to the differences in traditional culture, the economic gap is even greater. Although there are many countries in Europe, the economic level is basically maintained at the same level, and the difference is not great. In Asia, except Japan, South Korea, Israel and New Zealand, these four countries are developed countries, and the rest are developing countries or backward countries. The difference is too big. Even if the alliance is barely established, there will be differences because of the huge economic level.
The second point: fight separately.
Historically, the ancestors of European countries all came from the Roman Empire. Although their ancestors had wars at that time, their pursuit came down in one continuous line. In the face of the American pressure on Europe, they naturally unite to compete with the United States. They have the same goals and interests, so they can unite better.
Asia is different because it has a vast territory, a large population and many different civilizations. They have been at war for thousands of years. It is precisely because of different cultures that they are fighting with each other. West Asia and Central Asia are closer to European countries for geographical reasons, while South Asia is centered on India. Southeast Asian countries choose to set up their own organizations to entertain themselves. In ancient times, because East Asia was relatively strong, other countries revolved around China, but after its decline, it lost its previous position. While Japan has offended all East Asian countries by advocating militarism, South Korea has only a better economy, and other aspects have no right to speak in East Asia.
The third point: the United States is in the way.
At present, the United States can interfere in other countries' affairs at will. In order to maintain its position, it does not forget to block the forces of other countries and organizations while developing itself, that is to say, whoever develops greatly will be suppressed and others will not be regarded as good. When the EU was just founded, it also faced such problems, but what the United States did not expect was that the EU was getting stronger and stronger, and the United States dreamed of splitting the EU.
The United States does this to Europe, and it is also true to Asia. In order to prevent the emergence of a second EU, once an organization is born, the United States will immediately try to kill it in the cradle, so there will be no influential alliance.
According to the comprehensive appeal, there is no organization similar to the European Union in Asia. On the one hand, it is due to its own reasons, on the other hand, it is due to the United States. In short, it is difficult to create a strong organization, let alone an Asian Union.
