East Village, Asia’s No. 1 alpine orchard, the hometown of green food, is a newly built township based on the Lingbao Horticulture Farm in 1991. The township has a total population of 3,248 people, 10,400 acres of orchards, and an annual output of 18 million kilograms of fruit. It is a professional township focusing on fruit production.
The altitude here is 800-1,000 meters. Due to the deep soil, fertile soil and large temperature difference between day and night, it is very suitable for apple growth. The development of apple cultivation began as early as 1958. The apples produced are bright in color, crisp, sweet and delicious, contain a variety of vitamins, are durable in storage and transportation, and are pollution-free. They are sold at home and abroad and are very popular among consumers. In 1975, it was designated by the country as a high-quality apple production base and foreign trade base. It has become a well-known professional demonstration site for apple production and is known as "Asia's No. 1 Alpine Orchard." The new Red Star, Red Fuji and Golden Delicious apples produced have registered the "Dragon" brand, "Fu" brand and "Siheshan" brand trademarks respectively. In 1996, they successfully applied for the China Green Food Award and the National Development Center issued the Green Food Award. certificate, becoming the No. 1 township of green food apples in Henan Province, and embarking on the road of famous brand development.
In terms of production management, the first is to establish a technical service network, adopt the method of inviting in and sending out, and actively cultivate and develop a team of fruit tree management technical talents in rural groups. More than 50 technicians have been selected and sent to Henan Agricultural University and other institutions. Correspondence studies or off-the-job training in colleges and universities, and more than 20 fruit tree management technology training courses are held every year, with more than 2,000 fruit farmers trained. At present, there are more than 30 agronomists and personnel with equivalent professional titles, 46 assistant agronomists and personnel with equivalent professional titles, and 194 technicians in the township. There are technical personnel in every village and group, and there are people with technical knowledge in every household. The second is to adhere to unified management. The Township Horticulture Station holds one or two regular technical meetings every month to report relevant situations, analyze and study problems that arise in fruit tree production, formulate management systems, demonstrate and promote new technologies at all levels, and have taken the lead in promoting one-time flower thinning and fruit setting in the city. , high-joint head replacement, apple bagging, spindle-shaped trimming and other advanced and practical technologies have achieved significant economic benefits. In 2001, 10.37 million apples were bagged in the township, completely eliminating pollution from all aspects and improving the quality of high-quality fruits. The third is to adapt to market demand and pay close attention to the adjustment of variety structure. Since 1993, a five-year plan for fruit tree high-joint replacement has been formulated. With advanced awareness, old and inferior varieties that do not meet the market requirements have been updated year by year into new varieties such as Fifth Generation Red Star, Youxi Fuji, Huaguan, and Lala. A total of 89,000 plants have been replaced with high-speed connections. The current apple varieties have reached a relatively reasonable structural layout with Red Star and Golden Delicious accounting for 15% each, Red Fuji accounting for 60%, and other varieties 10%. The fourth is to effectively strengthen the prevention and control of apple diseases and insect pests in accordance with the green food apple production management standards. The township horticulture station has established a pest and disease monitoring and reporting network throughout the township, regularly reporting on pests and diseases, and carrying out targeted prevention and control work. Adhere to the "four unifications" principle of unified time, unified use of medicines, unified technical measures, and unified inspection to prevent and control pests and diseases. And comprehensively promote high-efficiency, low-toxicity, low-residue pesticides, prohibit the use of organophosphorus and high-residue pesticides, and establish usage files for orchards. The township also insists on using biological and physical methods such as black light lamps and sex attractants to prevent and control pests and diseases. More than 100 sets of black light lamps and more than 3,500 sex attractants are installed every year, so that all kinds of diseases and pests are controlled below the standard value, ensuring no Harmful green food apple quality. The fifth is to actively carry out scientific research and promote technological progress. The township horticulture station, science and technology committee, and science and technology association have successively carried out apple soil cave dwelling storage, apple and peach heartworm control, brown field mouse control, and "long-tassel multi-head bagging" fruit tree height management in the entire township. Technical research on projects such as joint replacement and soil water-retaining agent application, many of which have won provincial and municipal scientific research project awards. The widespread promotion and application of these scientific research results have received huge economic benefits. The township also vigorously promotes the application of practical technologies such as growing grass in orchards and raising pigs in orchards, and vigorously promotes the use of organic fertilizers and soil fertilizers, moving towards the development path of ecological agriculture.
In terms of marketing management, the township established the Henan West High-Quality Fruit Development Company in 1993, which consists of 3 branches for production material supply, technical services, and fruit sales, and 7 village-level fruit service stations. Provide one-stop service of production, supply and marketing for fruit farmers in the township. The company supplies more than 50 tons of high-quality and affordable pesticides and more than 300 tons of chemical fertilizers to fruit farmers every year, and sells 3.5 million kilograms of apples. In 2000, it was named one of the top 50 leading agricultural enterprises by Sanmenxia City.
It has also established 8 sales outlets in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Jiangmen and other places, and cultivated and developed more than 50 sales experts and large sales households, thus ensuring that fruit farmers can produce and sell apples at a good price. Over the years, the township party committee and government have actively set up enterprises around fruit production and lengthened the industrial chain. They have successively established Fulong fruit controlled atmosphere cold storage, Keyuan organic compound fertilizer, carton factory, apple waxing factory and other enterprises to provide better services. The production and marketing of pollution-free apples in the township have been promoted. Now the industrialization pattern of green food apple production has been formed in the entire township.
Spring flowers are in full bloom, summer is green and lush, autumn fruits are full of fragrant mountains, and winter snow is intoxicating. Dongcun Township, which has the largest alpine orchard in Asia, has become a large-scale demonstration base for producing pollution-free apples in Lingbao City.
