Disante's brand name "DESCENTE" is taken from the French vocabulary, which means "downhill". Disante DESCENTE was founded in 1935, and its brand predecessor was Shiben Men's Retail Store founded by famous Japanese entrepreneur Takeo Ishimoto in Osaka, Japan. In order to promote the brand spirit of Disante DESCENTE, Mr. Ishimoto invited Kazuyoshi Nishimura, a Japanese skier, as a brand consultant and launched a series of ski suits. The trademark Disante DESCENTE was successfully registered in 196 1, and the brand was officially launched at the same time.
