Violet flower (Latin scientific name: Matthiolanicana (L.) R.br. ) belongs to the genus Viola in Cruciferae. Violet originated in southern Europe and was introduced and cultivated in China. The plant height is 20~70 cm, and the whole plant has gray-white stellate hair. The stems are erect and much branched.
Leaves alternate, oblong or oblanceolate, 3~5 cm long. Racemes are terminal or axillary, with potato chips on both sides, stout pedicels, flower diameter of 2 cm, 4 petals with long claws, and petals spreading in a cross shape.
I like a cold and sunny environment, and I am a little tolerant of semi-yin. The optimum growth temperature is 15~ 18℃ in the daytime and about 10℃ at night. Can withstand the low temperature of MINUS 5 degrees in winter. It needs loose, fertile, moist and deep neutral or slightly acidic loam.
