Yuanyang rice was designated as the special food for the 11th Asian Games in Beijing in 199, and won the gold medal at the first China Agricultural Expo in 1992, which was praised as "the first rice in China". In 1996, it passed the "Green Food" certification of China Green Food Development Center and became the first green food in Henan Province. In October 22, "Yuanyang Rice" was awarded the "Certificate of Origin Trademark" by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (certificate number: 216469), becoming the first registered certificate of origin trademark in Henan Province and the first in China rice industry. In December, 23, "Yuanyang Rice" was certified by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine for the protection of geographical origin products, becoming the third rice product in China and the first food product in Henan Province to be protected by geographical origin. Since 23, Yuanyang rice has been exported to Kyrgyzstan, Canada, South Africa, Russia and other countries, creating a precedent for the export of japonica rice in Henan.
