1. Different origins

Pepsi in Pepsi-Cola comes from pepsin, which is homologous to Pepto-Bismol, the best-selling stomach and digestive tablets in the United States. When Pepsi was invented, it was a potion to treat indigestion. Later, it gradually abandoned the medical concept and was sold as a drink.

The Coca in Coca-Cola’s name means “coca”, the plant used to extract cocaine. At first, the cocaine content in Coca-Cola was a trade secret. Because of its mysterious formula, Coca-Cola became a headache remedy and was sold as a drink.

2. Different companies

Coca-Cola comes from the Coca-Cola Company and was founded on May 8, 1886.

Pepsi-Cola comes from the Pepsi-Cola Company and was founded in 1898.

3. The time of entering China is different

Coca-Cola. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, "Coca-Cola" had been launched in Asia. It was first produced in the Philippines and shipped to China for sale. It was sold in cities such as Shanghai Sale. In 1927, "Coca-Cola" was produced in Shanghai and Tianjin, and later in Qingdao and Guangzhou.

Pepsi-Cola, in 1981, PepsiCo signed a contract with the Chinese government to build a Pepsi-Cola bottling plant in Shenzhen, becoming one of China's first American business partners.
