What does the trademark review include?
Trademark examination refers to a series of activities such as examining whether the application for trademark registration conforms to the provisions of the Trademark Law, conducting data retrieval, analysis and comparison, investigation and study, and deciding whether to give preliminary approval or reject the application. Before the end of 20 18, the period of trademark registration review in China will be shortened to 6 months, within the first 4 months of 2020. It is conducted by the examiner appointed by the Trademark Office, and it is divided into two stages in procedure: formal examination and substantive examination. The examination mainly includes the following contents: examining the qualifications of the applicant for trademark registration, whether he has the right to apply for trademark registration, examining the conditions of trademark registration application, whether it meets the complete procedures required by the Trademark Law and the Regulations for the Implementation of the Trademark Law, whether the application for trademark registration meets the prescribed requirements, and whether the classification of goods or services is accurate.
