Zhang's treatment of diseases mostly advocates ancient prescriptions, but he learns from the ancients but does not follow the ancients. His clinical practice mostly relies on Zhongsheng's prescriptions. He creates his own prescriptions and mostly applies them based on Zhongjing's seven prescriptions. Most of his self-created prescriptions were adopted by later generations, with remarkable clinical effects, such as Zhengan Xifeng Decoction, Yuye Decoction, Huoluo Xiaoling Dan, Guchong Decoction, Shoutai Pills, etc., which are all well-known prescriptions. Based on the principle of conciseness, this volume selects 116 more commonly used prescription explanations from the first three issues of "Medicine Zhongshenxilu" by Fang Gang and compiles it into a book.

Zhang Xichun, a modern medical scientist, courtesy name Shoufu, was born in Yanshan County, Hebei Province.
