In August 2004, under the active coordination and promotion of the Zhangjiagang Industrial and Commercial Bureau, the Zhangjiagang Municipal Government established the "Municipal Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (Private Enterprises) Development Fund" to encourage private enterprises to register trademarks. A subsidy of 1,000 yuan is provided for each trademark. In 2006, the municipal government issued the "Operational Measures for the Use of Trademark Registration Subsidy Funds in Zhangjiagang City", extending the trademark registration subsidy policy for three years to May 31, 2010.
