From 20211,the protection of civil rights in China is about to enter a brand-new "civil code era".

The Civil Code of People's Republic of China (PRC) consists of seven parts: general provisions, property rights, contracts, personality rights, marriage and family, inheritance, tort liability and supplementary provisions, which responds to social concerns such as sexual harassment, personal information protection, housing safety of vulnerable groups, and how to pursue responsibility for throwing objects from high altitude.

Second, the law guarantees the security of "digital archives"

The newly revised Archives Law has been implemented since 200211,and there are two highlights worthy of attention.

First, it emphasizes promoting the open use of archives. For the first time, the right of units and individuals to use archives was legally clarified, and the closed period of archives was reduced from "30 years" to "25 years".

The second is to strengthen the construction of archives informatization. Add two chapters of "Archives Informatization Construction" and "Supervision and Inspection" to ensure the safe preservation and effective utilization of archives digital resources such as electronic archives and digital achievements of traditional carrier archives.

Third, protect the dignity of the national flag and national emblem

The newly revised National Flag Law and National Emblem Law will be implemented in 200211. The two laws clearly stipulate that those who intentionally insult the national flag and national emblem by burning, damaging, scribbling, defacing or trampling in public places will be investigated for criminal responsibility according to law.

The national flag and its patterns shall not be used as trademarks, patented designs or commercial advertisements, or used in inappropriate occasions such as private funeral activities. Citizens and organizations using the national flag pattern in the network shall abide by the relevant network management regulations and shall not damage the dignity of the national flag.

Citizens can wear the national emblem badge on solemn occasions to express their patriotic feelings.

Fourth, there must be real evidence to promote the efficacy of cosmetics.

On June 29th, 2020, the Regulation on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics was officially released, and 200211will be officially implemented on June 29th.

The "Regulations" stipulate that cosmetic efficacy claims should have sufficient scientific basis. Cosmetic registrants and filers shall publish abstracts of documents, research materials or product efficacy evaluation materials on the websites designated by the State Council, and accept social supervision. It is strictly forbidden to label cosmetic labels with contents that express or imply medical functions, false or misleading contents, etc.

From 20211,for eligible taxpayers, the advance personal income tax will not be withheld for the month before their accumulated income reaches 60,000 yuan; Personal income tax shall be withheld and remitted in the month when the accumulated income exceeds 60,000 yuan and in the months of the following years.
