The name of qiaojiao beef originated from a way of eating in Suji Town, Leshan City, Sichuan Province in the early 20th century. At that time, due to the poor conditions in the store, there were no stools for diners to sit on, so the guests could only stand on the ground with one foot and eat with one foot carrying the long table on the horizontal support. This unique way of eating has formed a style, which makes this dish known as "Tiaojiao" beef.
