In July, 1982, National Cultural Heritage Administration organized the Jinzhong Archaeological Team to excavate in Xinghua Village, Shanxi Province, and unearthed the earliest wine-making pottery in China, which has a history of more than 6, years. The excavation revealed the origin of the word "wine" in China. The word "wine" in Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Zhong Dingwen evolved from this pictograph with a small mouth and a pointed bottom. In addition, the archaeological excavations also unearthed retort and retort of steamed grain for brewing, pots, bottles and cans for holding wine, muddy jars for soaking wine materials, and utensils for warming wine. Xinghua Village in Shanxi is therefore called "the source of national wine" by the archaeological community.
It can be said that the discovery of the earliest pottery and wine vessel in China —— the jar with a small mouth and a pointed bottom in Xinghua Village, Shanxi Province, which is unique in shape and exquisite in craftsmanship, provides strong material evidence support for "the source of Chinese wine", "the source of artisans in China" and "the source of spirit of winemakers in China". This conclusion has also been confirmed by archaeological excavations from another dimension. In 1973, Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Working Committee discovered the original tools for collecting and processing food in many places in Shanxi (including Qinshui Xiachuan), and unearthed a large number of crop specimens. In fact, a large number of historical materials have recorded in detail that Shanxi is the "Huaxia ethnic origin" and "Huaxia agricultural origin". As early as seven or eight thousand years ago, chestnuts, millet and millet were planted. Shanxi is the origin center of sorghum in China. During the Neolithic Age to the Western Han Dynasty, sorghum was widely planted, and wheat was planted 5 years ago. Therefore, for a long time, Shanxi has been called "the country of miscellaneous grains". No wonder Shanxi has been affectionately called "the stomach of the earth" by geologists.
All kinds of miscellaneous grains provide sufficient raw material resources for Shanxi's brewing industry. By the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Xinghua Village in Fenyang had become the brewing center in Shanxi, and winemakers gradually became a profession. They often learned from each other about brewing methods and showed their unique skills in their wineries through the folk "Wine Fighting Conference". Over the past 6 years, the area around Xinghua Village in Shanxi has gradually become the highland and center of China's wine-making skills, and it is also known as the spreading place of craftsman spirit, which can be described as the "Silicon Valley" of China's wine-making industry. This land has been saturated with the genes and veins of China's craftsman spirit. The "artisan spirit" accumulated in Xinghua Village, Shanxi Province for thousands of years is different from any other region. The winemakers in Shanxi Province all have a unique temperament and personality.
