Magotan comes from FutureB6, which is closely related to Volkswagen Passat B6 and is the sixth generation of Passat brand cars.
FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. is produced and sold. It was listed in July 2007, and its Chinese name in China is "Magotan". According to FAW-Volkswagen, "Mai" means confident, decisive and energetic; "Teng" means soaring, surpassing and passion. The Latin name "Magotan" comes from the Latin root "Magnus", which means outstanding, noble, authoritative and respected.
The new name Magotan was adopted because Passat's production plant was changed to FAW-Volkswagen, and Passat B5 produced by Shanghai Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. has not stopped production.
