The Liling Chinese brand porcelain was produced in the 1950s, that is, in 1959.
After the founding of New China, Hunan's ceramic industry has developed vigorously, among which Liling and Jiepai Ceramics Production Base are the most famous. In 1959, on the basis of a public-private partnership, the Hunan Jiepai Ceramics Factory was established, with seven branch factories under its jurisdiction; most of the ceramic products produced by each branch used the "Hunan Jiepai" trademark.
The newly established Jiepai Ceramics Factory actively developed and researched new processes and new products. In order to better improve the porcelain making technology, the fourth branch was restructured in 1959 and established the Jiepai Ceramics Trial Production Group. In 1963 The trial production group was renamed as Hunan Jiepai Ceramics Research Institute. Hengyang Jiepai Ceramics Factory relies on its high-quality porcelain clay resources and strong support from local government departments to become one of the seven largest porcelain export companies in the country.

Jiepai porcelain has a wide variety, mainly tableware and tea sets, divided into jade patterns and crescent moons. There are four major types: moon, star and double edge. The product is as thin as paper, as pink as jade, with soft and light colors and hollow shapes. Among them, the patterned porcelain has a unique style, which is as white as jade, as sound as a rock, and as thin as paper. It is called "the essence of Oriental art" by foreign businessmen. Crescent brand tableware won the second prize in the National Advanced Porcelain Set in 1982.
