After the outbreak of World War I, Japan invaded Qingdao. On September 16, 1916, the "Dainippon Ale Co., Ltd." in Tokyo, Japan purchased the "German Beer Company Qingdao Co., Ltd." for 500,000 silver dollars. , changed its name to "Dainippon Ale Co., Ltd. Qingdao Factory". In the next 30 years, the products produced by the "Qingdao Factory" were sold all over China, using trademarks such as "Qingdao", "Asahi", "Kirin", etc.

After Japan's defeat and surrender in August 1945, the Nanjing National Government took over the "Qingdao Factory" and changed its name to "Tsingtao Beer Company". Two years later, the name was changed to "Tsingtao Brewery", and only the "Qingdao brand" beer trademark was retained. During this period, Tsingtao Beer's output peaked at 2,800 tons, and its products were also exported to Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore and Malaysia.

After the liberation of Qingdao, with the concern and attention of the party and the government, the production scale of Qingdao Brewery has been increasingly expanded, and the process technology and product quality have become increasingly mature. Tsingtao Beer is now exported to more than 40 countries and regions around the world, accounting for more than 50% of the country's beer exports.
