Some local snacks in Dongguan are made by pastry chefs in restaurants or hotels, while others are specially bought from local women who specialize in such snacks. No wonder they are so local and authentic.
In ancient times, the sugar ring was called "Giant Girl" (pronounced), which was a snack moved from the Central Plains to the south. Sugar rings have been changed from flour to glutinous rice flour in Dongguan. The traditional sugar ring, without cake printing, is only twisted into long strips and kneaded into a ring shape, which is hard enough to eat. People in Dongguan call it a short segment. In fried glutinous rice flour, stir-fried peanuts (ground) and sesame seeds.
