Fushun is rich in forest resources. There are 970 species of wild plants in 133 families and 242 species of wild animals in 63 families growing in the forest. Fushun is a well-known Chinese herbal medicine planting base in the country, and it is also an important wild vegetable supply base in Northeast Asia. Three well-known local brands, including Fushun Hash Ant, Qingyuan Red Antler, and Fushun Liao Wuwei, have obtained national geographical indication product protection. Traditional Chinese medicinal materials such as asarum, gentian, and acanthopanax, and wild vegetables such as celery fern mushrooms are well-known in the international and domestic markets. 52 kinds of minerals have been discovered, accounting for 47.3% of the discovered minerals in the province, 26 kinds have been developed, and 18 kinds of advantageous minerals. The main minerals are: coal, gold, copper, iron, limestone, peat, kerogen shale, coal bed methane, etc. The large-scale state-owned enterprise Fushun Mining Group has initially formed, mainly engaged in coal mining, Fushun Hongtoushan Copper Mine mainly engaged in copper and zinc ore mining, Xinbin County mainly engaged in coal mining, and Qingyuan County mainly engaged in gold and iron ore mining. , Fushun County’s mining pattern is dominated by iron ore and magnesite mining.

The proven reserves of coal resources are 1.415 billion tons; the prospective reserves of iron ore resources are 234 million tons, mainly distributed in Qingyuan and Fushun counties, with proven reserves of 89 million tons; the proven reserves of copper ore are 29.75 million tons tons, and by the end of 2004, the ore reserves were 8.852 million tons; the prospective reserves of magnesite resources are approximately 300 million tons, mainly distributed in Fushun County. The proven reserves are 4.953 million tons, and the remaining reserves at the end of 2004 are 2.27 million tons; the proven oil shale reserves are 4.394 billion tons, which is a large deposit, and the remaining reserves at the end of 2004 are 3.877 billion tons.
