"The Years of Burning Passion" is adapted from the novella "Father Goes to Town". A 22-episode heroism-themed TV series directed by Kang Honglei and written by Chen Peng, starring Sun Haiying, Lu Liping, Huang Haibo, Chen Lina, Tang Bo, Lu Xiaohe, Li Bo and others.

The play tells the story of a soldier's lifelong love and passion for his wife. It premiered on Beijing TV in October 2001.

1. When Zhang Jizhong saw the outline of the script for the first time, he sat on the toilet in the bathroom and cried bitterly.

2. Lu Liping and Sun Haiying, the male and female actors in the play, met and fell in love because of the play.

3. The original title of the play is "Father Enters the City", which is a novella written by Shi Zhongshan.

4. "The Years of Burning Passion" successfully passed the approval of the Trademark Office and became the first domestic TV drama trademark.
