1. In Rwanda, the exclusive right to use a trademark needs to be obtained through registration;

2. The principle of "application first" is adopted for trademark registration in Rwanda;

3. At present, the Rwandan authorities adopt the description of goods and services in the 1th edition of the Nice Classification, and accept multiple applications in one form;

4. The elements that can be registered as trademarks in Rwanda are visible signs such as words, names, figures, numbers, letters, color combinations and combinations of the above elements;

5. The "Registrar General Office of Rwanda Development Bureau" is responsible for trademark affairs;

6. The current trademark laws and regulations in Rwanda are mainly based on Act No.31/29 on Intellectual Property Protection, which was promulgated in December 29.
