Twentieth Century Fox Film Company is one of the major film and television program distribution and production companies in the United States. It was once a subsidiary of Twenty-First Century Fox Company and was established in May 1935. It was formed by the merger of Fox Film Company and 20th Century Pictures, the major companies in the black-and-white era. It was one of the eight major film companies in Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s.

Disney officially announced that its US$71.3 billion acquisition plan with 21st Century Fox has received final regulatory approval. Before Sony acquired Columbia in 1989, in 1985, the Australian newspaper tycoon Rupert Murdoch Acquired 20th Century Fox, one of the eight major Hollywood film companies, and turned the 20th Century Fox, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, into a film subsidiary of its own News Corporation (News Cor.). Under the operation of News Corporation, 20th Century Fox came back from the dead, not only restored its former glory, but also entered a period of stable development for more than 20 years.

In 2019, Disney announced the acquisition of 21st Century Fox, including its 20th Century Fox Film and Television, but not Fox News Network. In 21st Century Fox, the part not acquired by Disney established a new company, retaining the name FOX, collectively known as "Fox Group", and its business includes news, sports, broadcasting, etc.
