Peach

In August 2001, Laoting County was named "China's Peach Township" by the State Forestry Administration.

Hebei Leting County is located on the coast of the Bohai Sea in the southeast of Tangshan City. It is beautiful and fertile and has convenient transportation. The Tanggang Expressway leads directly to Tangshan, radiating across the country. The fresh peach planting area in Leting County reaches 150,000 acres. It produces 23,000 tons of fresh peaches, with an annual output value of 380 million yuan, and the related processing, warehousing and warehousing industry has an annual income of 390 million yuan. The output value of fresh peaches accounts for 22% of the total agricultural output value, and both output and efficiency rank first in the province.

Laoting's coastal geographical location and climatic conditions give fresh peach production a natural advantage in staggered seasons. In the past, the low price of peaches hurt farmers, which was a bitter fruit caused by a single variety, backward production model, and concentrated cultivation on the market. Laoting Forestry Bureau has repositioned its fresh peach production and found ways to improve varieties and develop off-season production to fill the off-season market. In 2002, Laoting produced SOD longevity peaches and bought out the patent; "Lefeng" brand peaches were recognized as "green food-products" by the National Green Food Development Center, and all fruits were registered with the "Lefeng" trademark.

In recent years, the county’s forestry department has taken the initiative to serve farmers and continuously put science and technology into the hands of farmers. While guiding fruit farmers to continuously improve fresh peach varieties, they have also developed greenhouse facilities for fresh peaches to increase farmers’ income. Steady growth year after year.

At present, Laoting County has developed more than 30,000 acres of greenhouse fresh peaches, and the annual net income of growers per mu exceeds 10,000 yuan. In the cultivation of peaches in Laoting County, white-fleshed peaches account for more than 70%.
