Audi was founded by August Horch in 1899. Later, it disagreed with its partners and established August Horc Automobile Company. But the company was accused of the same name, so it was changed to Horch's Latin Audi (German auditory meaning).

Audi's trademark "Sihuan" originated from four companies (in Chinese mainland, Audi was nicknamed "Tetracycline" for this reason), namely 1932. In 1932, four German automobile manufacturers Audi, DKW, Hodge and Wandell merged into "Automobile Alliance", and ferdinand porsche was hired to design the automobile alliance V 16.
