In what year was the Singapore Trademark Law enacted?

Singapore’s Trademark Law was enacted in 1998, based on the British Trademark Law, and came into effect in January 1999 after several revisions. As a member of the WTO (World Trade Organization), Singapore joined the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 1990, the Paris Convention in 1995, and the Protocol Relevant to the Madrid Agreement on the International Registration of Trademarks in 2000. Trademark (Trade Mark) is a sign used to distinguish the goods or services of different companies. It can be any combination of letters, words, names, signatures, numbers and other symbolic elements.
