According to 41 provisions of the current "Trademark Law": "If a registered trademark needs to change the name, address or other registration matters of the registrant, an application for change shall be submitted."

Trademark Changes refer to changes in the registrant, registered address or other matters of a registered trademark. If the applicant changes its name, address, agent, or deletes the designated goods, it may go through the change procedures with the Trademark Office. If you want to change the text or graphics of a registered trademark, you must resubmit a trademark registration application and it will be treated as a new trademark application and cannot be called a trademark change.

Approaches

There are two ways to apply for changing the name, address or other registration matters of the trademark registrant:

(1) Entrust the trademark registered with the Trademark Office Handled by agency.

(2) Applicants go directly to the Trademark Registration Hall of the Trademark Office (applicants in the Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Park can also go to the Trademark Office’s office in the Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, the office address It is: Administrative Office Hall on the second floor, Haidian District Branch, Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce, No. 9 Daozuo Temple, Haidian District, Beijing).

Document format

There are four document formats for changes: "Application Form for Change of Name/Address of Trademark Applicant/Registrant", "Application Form for Deletion of Goods/Services" ”, “Application Form for Change of Trademark Agent”, “Application Form for Correction of Trademark Application/Registration Matters”.

The applicant should fill in the corresponding application form according to the specific matters being handled:

1. If the name or address needs to be changed, the "Change of Name/Address of Trademark Applicant/Registrant" should be filled in Application Form", if the trademark registrant or applicant applies to change the name and address at the same time, just fill in an application form;

2. It is necessary to delete the registered trademark or the goods or services in the registration application , the "Application Form for Deletion of Goods/Services" should be filled out, but the goods or services cannot be qualified or modified;

3. If the trademark agent needs to be changed, the "Change of Trademark Agent" should be filled out Application Form";

4. If you find that there are errors in the registration documents or application documents that need to be corrected, you should fill out the "Application Form for Correction of Trademark Application/Registration Matters". The errors mentioned here need to be corrected. Limited to individual textual errors in the application documents.
