Lai Mao Liquor is produced in Maotai Town, the hometown of national liquor that is well-known at home and abroad. The fine wine produced here can be traced back to the fifth year of Yuanguang in the Western Han Dynasty, when Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty paid tribute to the liquor, and has become famous all over the world. In 1826, during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, his grandfather Lai Zhengheng founded Moutai Shaochunfang in Moutai, creating the first sauce-flavored wine. Later, the three Lai Guishan brothers expanded the Hengchang Distillery and renamed it Hengxing Distillery, after his nickname Lai Mao. trademark. In 1915, Lai Mao liquor won the gold medal at the International Exposition and became one of the three most famous liquors in the world. On October 1, 1949, "Laimao" was used as the celebration wine at the first banquet of the founding of the People's Republic of China. During the company's joint venture in 1953, the Renhuai Municipal Government established the state-owned Moutai Distillery based on the Hengxing Distillery. In 1982, Lai Guishan, the founder of Lai Mao Liquor, revived his ancestral business and resumed production.
