What is the registration procedure of UAE trademark?
Trademark applications are examined by the Trademark Registration Office. After the application is accepted by the registration office, it will be published in the official announcement and UAE daily. Within 30 days from the date of announcement, there is an objection period to the trademark. Any interested party may raise an objection in writing during this period. The registrar will notify the trademark applicant and provide a copy of the objection. The applicant must submit a reply within the next 30 days. Failing to reply to the trademark application within the time limit shall be deemed as giving up. If no announcement is made after the objection period, the trademark registration certificate will be issued under the condition of paying a certain official fee, which must be completed within 60 days after the objection period. If the Trademark Registrar decides to reject or shelve the trademark application, he can review the decision within the next 30 days and bring a lawsuit to the civil court within 60 days after the review decision is made. If the trademark applicant fails to file a lawsuit in this regard within the time limit, the application will be deemed to have been abandoned.
