What is the difference between Maotai’s Huamao, Wangmao and Laimao?

Huamao is a Maotai-flavor liquor owned by Moutai, and Huamao is one of the predecessors of Moutai. As early as the Guangxu period in the late Qing Dynasty, the Hua family rebuilt the winery on the ruins of the "Maotai Shaohuang" that was destroyed by the military disaster more than 10 years ago, and named it "Chengyi Winery". The "Maotai Shaohu" they produced was "Huamao". In 1951, Huajia Chengyi Winery was state-owned. On this basis, the government joined forces with other wineries to establish the state-owned Kweichow Moutai Winery. [2] Moutai Group restarted the Huamao brand in 2018. In 2019, Huamao liquor was produced by Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. and officially launched on the market.

Wangmao Liquor is the Maotai-flavor liquor product of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. [1-2] Wangmao Liquor products mainly include three categories: Wangmao Liquor (Xiangya/Black), Wangmao Liquor (Xiangbang/White), and Wangmao Liquor (Xiangtai/Red).

Laimao liquor is produced exclusively in Moutai Town, Renhuai City, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, China. It is one of the Moutai series of liquors and a national strategic single product that Moutai strives to create in its "133 Strategy"[1] .

On March 15, 2014, Moutai Group issued a statement stating that the "Laimao" trademark was a registered trademark of Moutai Company [2-3]. Only the Lai Mao liquor produced by "Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd." can be called Lai Mao liquor, and other manufacturers are all counterfeit and infringing products
