2017 Top 500 Global Brands released: Google ranks first.

Alibaba ranks 23rd in the world and 4th in China. Its brand value increased by 48.5% year-on-year, soaring from US$18 billion to US$32.9 billion. Huawei, Tencent, JD.com and WeChat also showed relatively large growth rates, with their brand values ??rising by 21.4%, 55.3%, 31.3% and 50.7% respectively.

Companies in the food and beverage industry include Coca-Cola, and international brands such as Pepsi-Cola, Red Bull, and Budweiser are also on the list. Only three Chinese food and beverage brands, Yili, Moutai and Yanghe, are on the list.

BrandFinance is a world-renowned brand value and strategy consulting company. It evaluates thousands of well-known brands around the world every year and lists the most valuable brands in the annual "BrandFinance Global 500" report.

In this year's selection, BrandFinance calculated the value based on "a company is willing to pay for its brand as if it had never owned it". The selection dimensions include public familiarity, loyalty, promotional activities, Marketing investment, employee satisfaction, and corporate reputation.

The list also takes into account the brand’s future earnings.
