DESCENTE was founded in 1935. The brand was formerly known as Ishimoto men’s clothing retail store, founded by the famous Japanese entrepreneur Ishimoto. Mr. TAKEO ISHIMOTO founded it in Osaka, Japan.

In order to promote the brand spirit of DESCENTE, Mr. Ishimoto invited Japanese skier Kazuyoshi Nishimura as a brand consultant to launch a ski wear series. The DESCENTE trademark was successfully registered in 1961, and the brand was officially launched at the same time.
