"Jintang Mingshen" is the dried root of Umbelliferae plant Chuanmingshen. It is a long cylinder, 15cm—27cm long and 8mm—11mm thick. The reed head is small, with fine ring patterns, and the middle part is thick, with sparse transverse brown lenticels and wrinkled textures. The body is solid, hard and brittle, easily broken, with yellow-white cross section, fine meat, horny luster and slight transparency. There are several circles of white rings on the outer layer, light brown in the center and white radial texture. Slight breath, slightly sweet taste.
"Jintang Mingshen" is also known as Radix Adenophorae and Chuanmingshen, but Jintang County is an authentic and historical producing area of Chuanmingshen, and its geographical environment and climatic conditions are very suitable for the growth of Chuanmingshen.
