Jindian Town is located in the middle of Linfen Basin in south-central Shanxi Province, on the west bank of Fenhe River and on the east side of Luliang Mountain. It is connected to Liucun Town in the north, Zhentou Township in the west, and Xiangling Town and Yaomiao Town in Xiangfen County across the Fenhe River in the south. Du Yao, the legendary capital of ancient times, the capital of the Northern Dynasties and the later Han Dynasty, was originally Pingyang County, which was ruled by Pingyang County during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.
