A pier, an ancient salt tunnel.
Bizhao Village is located at the intersection of Chishui River and its tributaries, backed by towering green hills. It has always been an important pier along the Chishui River and an important post station on the ancient salt road. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the waterway and land passage of Sichuan salt into Guizhou met here, and for a time, people came and went in the village, merchants gathered, and it was very lively. The ancient river wharf in Bizhao Village is not only a wharf for loading and unloading Sichuan salt, but also the main waterway wharf for mountain people living in the depths of surrounding mountains to cross Chishui River from Beichishui County to Nanhouyuan Town. There is an old mottled stone road behind Bizhao Village, which was built by the government hundreds of years ago. Pass through it, pass through the towering mountain peaks behind you, pass through the wind crossing and go down the mountain. This is another important stop on the salt transportation road-Bing 'an Ancient Town. Bizhao village still retains the Danxia stone bridge "Tianen Bridge" in the salt transportation era.
Tianen Bridge was built in Chen Geng (1880) during the Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, with a history of nearly 140 years. 1876 10, Ding Baozhen was transferred to Sichuan, rectified the bureaucracy, reformed Dujiangyan water conservancy facilities, founded Sichuan Machinery Bureau, and improved the salt method, with an annual increase of more than one million yuan. He served as the Governor of Sichuan 10 years, and made great efforts to stabilize the society, including Tianen Bridge in Bizhao Village, Chishui City, Guizhou Province on the land and water salt road. The imperial edict at that time was that Sichuan entered the throat of Guizhou, and important substances such as salt had to pass through. There are detailed stone carvings on the red stone tablet of Tianen Bridge. 1985 Tianen Bridge and its stone tablet were listed as provincial-level cultural relics protection units by Guizhou Provincial People's Government.
After natural and man-made disasters
The important geographical location of land and water arteries has not only brought prosperity to Bizhao Village for hundreds of years, but also brought some natural and man-made disasters. In some years, when the Chishui River flooded, Bizhao Village, located in the riverbank canyon, faced a serious threat, and some low-lying houses were often washed away by floods. Every time a war breaks out in the southwest of China, it will also affect Bizhao Village, which is geographically important. If there is time, every time the villagers will temporarily give up their homes and flee to the surrounding mountains. After the war subsided, I went back to the village, but every time I came back, I found that the village had already been looted and in a mess. The only exception is that when the Red Team passed Sidu Chishui here on June 1935+ 10, the villagers went up the mountain to escape according to their usual experience, but when they came back, they were surprised to find that their home was actually intact. Bizhao village has experienced the baptism of war for hundreds of years and is constantly changing. In order to survive, the villagers in Bizhao Village had to rebuild their homes after the village was destroyed.
A lonely and quiet village
Since the new century, great changes have taken place in the traffic of the whole Chishui River basin, and there are high-grade highways and expressways in Chishui River. Bizhao village, once a thoroughfare of land and water, has completely declined. With the improvement of land transportation, many villagers in Bizhao Village have gone to distant places in pursuit of a better life, and only a few elderly people who are unwilling to leave their homeland stay here. Nowadays, Bizhao Village has been very deserted, and only those empty old houses that still stand tell the story of its once prosperity.
Although many villagers in Bizhao Village have completely walked out of the ancient village at the foot of this mountain, no matter where they go, it will always be their unforgettable hometown.
