Which water supply pipe is most suitable for home decoration? Please tell me how to choose a good one

Let’s first understand the classification of water pipes:?

Pure copper pipes. Pure copper pipes have the advantages of sterilization, corrosion resistance, high thermal effect (but require insulation layer), fire resistance, pressure resistance, good environmental performance, and can be used repeatedly. They are the top grade among water pipes. However, copper pipes inevitably have some disadvantages: first, they conduct heat quickly, secondly, copper pipes are more expensive, and third, copper pipes are prone to patina and are more difficult to install.

PPR tube. As a new type of water pipe material, PPR pipe is welcomed by consumers because it fully embodies the environmental protection characteristics. This is a high-tech product made of type III polypropylene. Because of its smooth appearance and soft color, it can be used as a cold pipe, a heat pipe, and even a pure drinking water pipe, which is completely suitable for the aesthetic needs of modern home decoration. It uses a special hot-melt method for connection, which is characterized by heat resistance, pressure resistance, non-toxicity, light weight, and low construction cost; the inner wall of the pipe is smooth, the flow resistance is small, and the noise is low; the service life can reach 50 years, and the material is It may age faster than copper pipes, but it won't scale.

Aluminum plastic pipe. Aluminum-plastic composite pipe is a popular pipe material on the market. The more famous brands of aluminum-plastic pipes are Jinde and Rifeng. Because it is non-scaling, corrosion-resistant, pressure-resistant, temperature-resistant, impermeable, can be up to 200 meters long, is light in weight, easy to install, and can be bent, it is more suitable for use in home decoration. The main disadvantage is: when used as a hot water pipe, due to long-term thermal expansion and contraction, the pipe wall will be misaligned, leading to leakage. And its thermal insulation is relatively poor.

Steel-plastic pipe. Steel-plastic pipe is a composite pipe with plastic inside and steel outside. Its price is between copper pipe and PPR pipe, about 10 yuan per meter. The hard outer shell makes it less likely to be broken during decoration, while the inner plastic layer can avoid rust and meet the needs of environmental protection. Steel-plastic pipes, like other metal pipes or composite pipes, have relatively high construction requirements. If the hinge thread opening is not smooth, the connection will not be tight enough and there is a risk of water leakage.

Galvanized pipe. Most of the old houses installed today are galvanized pipes, and the iron pipes used for heating and gas are also galvanized pipes. As a water pipe, galvanized pipes usually produce a lot of dirt after being used for several years. The yellow water flowing out will not only pollute the sanitary ware, but also contain some bacteria that breed in the non-smooth inner wall. In addition, Rust will also cause the heavy metal content in the water to be too high, seriously affecting people's health, so we do not recommend the use of water pipes made of this material.

UPVC pipe. In fact, it is a kind of plastic pipe, and the joints are usually glued. This kind of pipe has poor frost resistance and heat resistance, so it is difficult to be used as a hot water pipe. Because its strength cannot meet the pressure-bearing requirements of water pipes, this material is rarely used in cold water pipes.

What should you pay attention to when purchasing water pipes?

1. When purchasing water pipes, pay attention to whether the inner diameter of the pipe is uniform and whether the thickness of the pipe diameter will affect the docking of the two interfaces.

2. Smell the water pipes for any odor, because water pipes will smell pungent after being mixed with recycled toxic plastic.

3. Check the color, gloss and thickness of the water pipe, and see if the outer wall of the water pipe is marked with pressure, temperature, specifications, trademarks and other signs.

4. When purchasing, you should go to a regular agent or manufacturer with an authorized pipe distribution certificate. You should also check whether the pipes and fittings you purchased are produced by the same manufacturer. You should contact the seller. Ask for a product service card.

5. The wall thickness of hot and cold water pipes is different. Cold water pipes cannot be used as hot water pipes. The way to distinguish hot and cold water pipes is that there is a red line mark on the hot water pipe.

6. When purchasing water pipes, pay attention to the pipe diameter and wall thickness. Generally, the main pipe should be 6-branch pipes, and the branch pipes can be 4-branch pipes. Sometimes, in order to ensure water consumption, 6-part pipes can also be used.

7. The standard length of PPR pipes is 4 meters each. When buying, be sure to ask the merchant whether the price is per pipe or per meter. After the pipes are delivered, you should randomly check whether the length of the pipes meets the requirements.

8. my country's Building Decoration Industry Association has made detailed regulations on the time and pressure of pipe pressure testing: Newly installed water supply pipelines must be pressure tested in strict accordance with relevant regulations. The test pressure of metal and composite pipes should be 0.6MPa, and the pressure should be stabilized for 10 minutes. The pressure drop in the pipe should not be greater than 0.02MPa without leakage; the test pressure of plastic pipes should be 0.8MPa, and the pressure should be stabilized for 20 minutes. The pressure inside the pipe should drop. It should be no more than 0. 05MPa and there should be no leakage.

9. Generally speaking, the pressure-bearing capacity of water pipes is very good. For example, PPR pipes can reach a standard of at least 20 kilograms in experiments. Therefore, when selecting pipe materials, pressure-bearing capacity is not The most important criterion.
