This time, we will introduce the motherboard first. Because we are mainly discussing the DIY market, we can't just arrange the seats according to the shipments, but evaluate them according to the comprehensive factors such as channel sales, motherboard quality and market reputation. We still use the traditional saying to introduce and comment here:
First-line brands:
The main features are strong R&D ability, rapid introduction of new products, complete product lines and excellent high-end products. At present, the following three brands are widely recognized:
ASUS: the world's largest motherboard manufacturer, and also recognized as the first brand of motherboards, which pursues practical work, especially high-end motherboards. At the same time, his price is also the most expensive, and some models in the low-end also have relatively poor products.
MSI: The shipment volume ranks in the top five in the world, and the annual campus trip MSI is very popular among college students. Its main features are complete and luxurious accessories, but its overclocking ability is not excellent. In addition, some low-end models have shrunk seriously, which makes counterfeiters often find opportunities.
GIGABYTE: The shipment volume is comparable to that of MSI. It has always been famous for its gorgeous workmanship, but it is by no means flashy. It is also not outstanding in overclocking. The low-end models have shrunk as much as MSI, so it is often plagued by fakes.
quasi-first-line brands:
All three major manufacturers have the same "fault", that is, they focus on Intel, but they are somewhat careless about AMD platform with relatively small sales volume, so several motherboard brands that concentrate on DIY market emerge. Although they are not as famous as the Big Three, the quality of the main board is not inferior at all, so we will list them as quasi-first-line brands for the time being:
ABIT: overclocking has always been the top priority, and the materials used for work are not inferior to the first-line brands, so they are favored by many DIYER. In the survey of well-known foreign media, upgrading skills is ranked second after ASUS. Because upgrading technology only does DIY market, the shipment of motherboard is not large, and its reputation in China is a little worse, so it can only temporarily live in the position of quasi-first-line.
EPOX: Originally named as Panying, it was renamed as Panzheng because it was squatted in China. Similar to the style of upgrading technology, overclocking ability is also well-known, and the accessories are more complete and the price is relatively lower, so there are also many Fans.
Second-tier brands:
They are slightly inferior to first-tier brands in some aspects, but they all have considerable strength and their own characteristics:
FOXCONN, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Group in Taiwan Province, China, has now ranked second in the world in motherboard shipments, catching up with ASUS-of course, most of them are OEM and OEM. Two years ago, it entered the mainland market with the brand of "Fuben", but it ended in vain. The real private brand has only entered the DIY market for more than a year. At present, the acceptance is not high and the product line is not complete, but I believe it can be done better with the strength of Hon Hai.
elite (ECS): at one time, the shipment volume surpassed ASUS and took the top spot, but unfortunately it was overtaken in the last two years, and now it ranks third in the world. Different from other big manufacturers, the elite has always taken the low-cost route, the motherboard materials are mediocre, the overclocking ability is almost zero, and the accessories are also the most basic. However, only two years later, the elite also tried to change, and launched a high-end "EXTREME" series of motherboards. We look forward to the better performance of the elite.
INTEL (Intel): With this name alone, its influence is definitely higher than that of ASUS, but it is entirely OEM. At present, it is made by Foxconn, and the materials used for the work are unknown, but it can't be overclocked at all, and there are few accessories, which is despised by DIYER and is more suitable for families and enterprises.
ALBATRON: It was founded by a high-level official in Gigabyte, claiming to be "first-line quality and second-line price", and it has indeed achieved it. It is no less than the first-line manufacturers in all aspects, with lower price and outstanding overclocking ability. At present, it is not very famous. But personally, I am optimistic about this brand, and with its strength, it can completely enter the ranks of first-line manufacturers.
BIOSTAR: it is also a world-class motherboard manufacturer, but it has only entered the DIY market in recent two years. Although it has "nine wonders" and other characteristic technologies, its overclocking ability is average, and it is also suitable for home and business.
CHAINTECH: It is also a famous show, and it is also very hard in DIY market. The product line covers high, medium and low grade, and it is well-made and overclocking, but the market channel is not very good, which is rare in the market in recent two years.
AOPEN: it belongs to Taiwan Province Acer group, and is a very creative manufacturer. It used to make vacuum tubes on the main board, with excellent materials and good overclocking ability, but its price is high, the channels are not good, and its acceptance in China is not ideal.
ACROP: The shipment in the OEM market is relatively large, so it can also rank among the top ten in the world. In the DIY market, it is very unsatisfactory, and the trademark is registered, which greatly affects the sales volume. The motherboard works well, and the "motherboard doctor" is commendable, but the overclocking ability is mediocre.
Hermits of second-tier brands:
These brands are listed separately because they are all very strong, but for various reasons, they are not easy to see in the market:
Wilson Tsui, a well-known server/workstation motherboard manufacturer, has also launched some DIY motherboards with outstanding quality, but due to lack of experience in the DIY market, its sales volume has been very small.
Volkswagen (FIC): an old-fashioned powerhouse in the motherboard industry, it was one of the three major motherboard manufacturers in Taiwan Province before 1999, second only to ASUS and elite, but it has gradually declined in recent years. At present, we can only see the OEM products of Volkswagen.
LEADTEK: a well-known graphics card manufacturer, is the top partner of nVidia. In recent years, it has entered the motherboard industry, and its motherboards are mainly based on nForce series chipsets, with luxurious workmanship and no expense, but the market acceptance is not high. In 24, Litai was acquired by Hon Hai, and its development prospect is optimistic, but I'm afraid his motherboard will be named "Foxconn" in the future.
diamond (DFI): a senior motherboard manufacturer, LANPARTY series is luxurious, but due to poor channels, we can only see motherboards made by diamonds at present, but it is reported that diamonds will return to the mainland market this year, which is definitely good news for the majority of DIYER.
Mei Jie (SOYO): It is the first motherboard with its own brand in Taiwan Province. In the era of Ben Er, Mei Jie's popularity is no less than that of first-line brands such as ASUS. However, Mei Jie's mainland branch unfortunately suffered losses and had to withdraw from the mainland market at the end of 21. Although it returned to the mainland at the end of 23, the whole market has been carved up, and it is still unknown whether Mei Jie can make a comeback.
SYNTAX: A motherboard brand from California, USA, is said to have a high reputation in Europe and America. The motherboard workmanship looks ok, but can it fight its way out among the motherboard powers in Taiwan Province? Let's wait and see.
VIA: via was originally a chip designer, and the launch of its own brand motherboard was entirely the result of market competition. At first, the P4 chipset designed by VIA was not authorized by INTEL, and major motherboard manufacturers were afraid to produce P4 motherboards based on VIA chipsets because of INTEL's arrogance. In this case, VIA had to make its own motherboards, and in fact, other manufacturers OEM them, with good materials and favorable prices. Later, with the settlement between VIA and INTEL, this brand faded out of the market.
Third-tier brands:
They have the manufacturing ability and try to keep their prices as low as possible under the premise of ensuring stable operation. This is the main feature of these third-tier manufacturers. Recently, the market competition has become increasingly fierce, and some brands have disappeared, such as Xinming, Kirin, Huangchao, Zeling, Lianxun, etc. We only introduce what we can still see here:
ASROCK: In order not to affect our high-end image. The technology is quite creative, but the quality of the motherboard is average, and there are different opinions. It is said that its repair rate is very high. Who will confirm it?
meaningful star (MBI): MSI couldn't sit still after seeing Huaqing in the low-end market, so it launched this brand in the summer of 24, but the low-end market has been occupied by Huaqing, and meaningful star doesn't know whether it can hold up.
AXPER: Gigabyte's low-end brand, with the same purpose as meaningful star, and basically launched at the same time, the three major manufacturers will also launch a firefight in the low-end market.
SOLTEK: Originally, it could be listed as a second-tier brand, and its motherboard was quite cost-effective, and it was once OEM for VIA's motherboard. However, due to the price war in recent two years, the quality of the motherboard has gone from bad to worse, and now it can only be reduced to a third-tier brand.
SOKING: Its name is very similar to that of Shuoteke, and it also comes from Taiwan Province, but it is actually another manufacturer with R&D and manufacturing capabilities, but its market influence is not too great at present.
JETWAY: a decent motherboard brand, with a series of characteristic technologies named after "Elf". The motherboard quality is average. The motherboard of P4X266A chipset was once named "848P", which greatly affected the brand image.
Cordia (QDI): the former Lenovo motherboard, which belongs to the QDI division of Lenovo Group. At the beginning of 24, Lenovo separated the QDI business unit and set up an independent subsidiary, and the brand Cordia came into being. However, the strength and reputation of QDI are not as good as those of Taiwan Province manufacturers, and I'm afraid what we can do now is to fight for the price.
SHUTTLE: a powerful manufacturer in Taiwan Province, has transformed into a quasi-system under the unprecedented fierce competition in the motherboard industry. At present, it is difficult to see his motherboard in the market.
Boden (XFX): The manufacturer is Taiwan Province Songjing Technology, which mainly makes graphics cards. The motherboard is also good, but it is also rare.
OCTEK: It is the largest motherboard manufacturer in Hong Kong. It was very popular in the 486 era, and then faded out of the retail market due to market adjustment. Although it returned to the mainland in 22, it failed to open up the situation. I wonder if it will be seen again in the future.
TOPSTAR: a brand from Shenzhen, with independent R&D and manufacturing capabilities, claims to be the first brand in China, but it still has a long way to go.
EAGLE: made by Shenzhen radium optoelectronics co., ltd., it has been exclusively used in the low-end market for many years, and it has no many advantages except low price.
ASZ: It is also produced in Shenzhen. The manufacturer is Dongfang Hengjian Electronics Co., Ltd., which has certain manufacturing capacity and also does OEM work for other brands, but it is only cheap and the quality is not outstanding.
SEAVO: The workmanship is not bad, but the manufacturer keeps a low profile and doesn't see any market promotion. I'm afraid if you want to open up the situation, you can only win by price.
incompetent brands:
Most motherboards at this level are distributors, and they have no manufacturing capacity, so they are completely OEM by other manufacturers, so I call them incompetent brands. In terms of workmanship, it is basically the third-line level, but there are also some fine products, such as the colorful Dragon Warrior is actually the AU13 of Volkswagen, the NK7U of Onda is manufactured by diamonds, and some models of Shuangmin are manufactured by Qingyun, so keep your eyes open when purchasing. Only the names of these brands are listed here, so I won't repeat them one by one:
Colorful, Onda, Shuangmin, Meida, Ogilvy, Yingtong, Spartak, Qixiang, Jiandaland, Lanke, Tongwei, Titeng, Shuangjie, Sandi, Jianbang, Red Boat ...
Miscellaneous brands:
It's best not to buy:
Zhongcheng, Zhida, Zhimeng, Lianguan, Jieling, Kenao, Guanmeng, Kemeng, Wanbanglong, Vista, Jiejia, Huaji, Huamei, over the rainbow, Fengwei, Red Fox, Silver Fox, Wing Chi, Liansheng, Jiewei, Shuangshuo, Zhongling, Fuyang, etc. It can be called the "leader" brand in the miscellaneous motherboard:
Panying: Xintianxia Company from Shenzhen registered the trademark "Panying", which was not only rubbish, but also confusing people, claiming that it was genuine and boastful!
Mercedes-Benz: It was also registered by Xintianxia, and it was a serious insult to Mercedes-Benz to collude with Panying!
Baiyu: In order to distinguish Taiwan Province from Baiyu, it is generally called the mainland Baiyu. It also started from squatting, and its workmanship is poor, which seriously interferes with the market order.
shenzhou VI: a funny name, afraid of being called "shenzhou v" to take legal action, so his name is shenzhou VI _
Wuliangye: in China, his name is a household name, and it is well known to all women and children, and I'm afraid INTEL can only match it. But he didn't cherish IT himself. He found a motherboard with a miscellaneous brand in Shenzhen, and then sold it at a low price, earning money at a loss, and then announced that the company would enter the IT industry to boost his stock. It is really the sorrow of China enterprises
