In 1977, Bank of America donated the exclusive rights to BankAmericard and formed a VISA international credit card organization with other banks. The card issued by this organization is called VISA card.

Notes on using VISA cards

The Alipay platform will close the Visa card VbV transaction entrance on August 17, 2006. Based on the requirements of the majority of Alipay members and through the joint efforts of Visa International, Agricultural Bank of China and Alipay, it has been decided to reopen the Visa card VBV transaction entrance from November 22, 2006. The relevant matters are now explained as follows:

1. Currently open are Visa cards issued by all financial institutions in Hong Kong (except Hang Seng Bank). Alipay does not yet support Visa card transactions in other countries (including mainland China) and regions outside Hong Kong;

2. The shopping website opened this time is limited to payments for transactions created on Taobao.

3. In the Visa payment portal opened this time, CVV2 has been added. For verification, all members are asked to enter the last three digits in the signature strip on the back of the Visa card;

4. All members are asked to conduct Visa payment business in accordance with the principle of good faith. If the Alipay risk monitoring system detects any abnormalities If the behavior is verified and confirmed, Alipay accounts and related transactions will be severely dealt with, and the card issuer will be notified;

5. Alipay will gradually open up to other countries except Hong Kong in accordance with the principle of orderly advancement ( For Visa card transactions (including Mainland China) and regions, please pay attention to the Alipay forum.
