If the credit card account is not overdue, it can be displayed in the People's Bank of China credit system within 45 days after the credit card is canceled. If there is an overdue record, canceling the credit card account will not affect the record. Unless the borrower pays off the debt, the overdue record will always exist in the credit reporting system.
Relevant regulations on credit card account cancellation:
If the cardholder no longer uses the credit card, he must notify the bank in advance and apply for account cancellation procedures. When applying for account cancellation, cardholders should go through the account cancellation procedures in accordance with bank regulations. The cardholder shall be responsible for all debts under the credit card before the credit card account is officially closed, and all outstanding amounts shall be deemed to be fully due when applying for account cancellation procedures, and the cardholder shall pay off such debts in one go. If the cardholder fails to fully repay the principal, interest and related fees of the account overdraft, the bank will not handle the account cancellation procedures.
The general process of canceling a credit card:
1. Call the customer service hotline of the credit card issuer, and the customer service staff will inform the customer of the credit card status;
2. 45 days after applying for account cancellation, if the customer's credit card has no outstanding balance and no balance, the bank's customer service staff will close the credit card account;
3. If there is still a balance, it can be refunded at the branch of the credit card issuing bank.
