How long is the validity period of Peony Credit Card? After the validity period expires, do I need to activate it again if I change the card?

Peony credit cards are generally valid for no more than 5 years. Expired cards can no longer be used, but the use contract is still valid. If you need to continue using the card, please apply for a card replacement through online banking, the card issuer or the customer service hotline. If you do not want to change your card for the time being, please notify ICBC one month in advance. ICBC will keep your card number for a certain period of time; when you need to continue using the card in the future, you can apply to ICBC for card change.

The new card is the same as the previous card opening operation. There are three ways for you to choose:

1. Activate through 95588 customer service phone or telephone banking

The specific steps are: Dial: 95588 and dial "6" for international card services. Select the required service language according to the voice prompts and press "3" to enter ICBC credit card services. Then press "2" to enter "Card Activation". Follow the voice prompts to enter your credit card number, valid certificate (ID card) number and other personal information. After completing the identity verification, the card can be successfully opened. After the ICBC credit card is activated, you can set a consumption password.

When activating an ICBC credit card through telephone banking, if the cardholder uses a non-reserved phone number to call telephone banking, the system will ask him or her to enter the reserved mobile phone number. Please enter it according to the voice prompts. Currently, ICBC in some areas does not support self-service card issuance over the phone. Cardholders can choose to open a card over the counter or call 95588 and call "9" for manual service consultation.

2. Counter activation

ICBC credit card holders can bring their valid ID, credit card and password letter to the counter of the local ICBC branch to open the card. You can pick up the card at the local ICBC Credit Card Center (not by mail) and activate the ICBC credit card on the spot. If you forget to bring your password letter with you when you go to a business outlet, you can do a "password reset" before opening the card (this service is free), and then activate the card.

3. Online activation

Log in to personal online banking from the official website of ICBC and enter "Peony Card Activation" under "Bank Card Services". Enter the card number, card validity period, cardholder name, ID number and other relevant information and click the Confirm button. Finally, set the credit card password and confirm to complete the ICBC credit card activation.

Reminder: Users who want to change the card type must explain it to the customer service staff, otherwise the bank will apply for a card based on the original card type. In most cases, when a credit card expires, the credit card user does not need to take the initiative to call. The bank will actively renew the card and mail a new card to the user.
