Why does this happen

This situation comes from the previous dual-currency card. The withdrawal of dual-label cards from the stage of history also means the end of the convenience of “one card to travel the world”. If you want to have credit cards issued by UnionPay, Visa, and Mastercard at the same time, you need to apply for multiple credit cards.

As China UnionPay has spread to more than 160 countries and regions overseas, most of the time you can pay with one of the UnionPay chip credit cards. Some merchants in a few countries will require you to pay only with Visa or MasterCard credit cards. Pay the bill. Therefore, if you receive a full-currency card and cannot use it temporarily, you can choose not to activate it or cancel the card or account.
