Chen Linong was born in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province. When he was a child, he helped share the family income. When he was 9 years old, he followed his father to sell grilled squid at the night market. In the third year of junior high school, he sold ice cream with his family at the night market. Chen Linong studied in Nanqiang Industrial and Commercial Performing Arts Department in high school; in 2015, he was discovered by a talent scout and participated in a talent show in Taiwan.

After that, he signed a contract with Legend Star Entertainment and became its trainee.
