When a bank card is swallowed by a self-service machine due to improper operation, the retrieval time is as follows:

1. Retrieval within 90 seconds

Self-service retrieval is available At the ATM machine, as long as the cardholder enters the correct password within 90 seconds, the card can be retrieved.

2. Get it back on the same day

Contact the service staff at the bank branch. If it is an ATM machine next to the bank, the staff will usually have the key and you can take out the card immediately after opening the machine.

Then the staff can get the card back on the same day by providing the card number, withdrawal password and other information.

3. Within 3 days

If there is no bank branch near the ATM machine, please call to report the emergency loss.

Within three days after reporting the loss, go to the nearest bank branch to pick up the card with your original ID card.

Bank cards (including China Merchants Bank and other banks) were swallowed when the self-service equipment of China Merchants Bank timed out and the card was swallowed. You can try to collect the card by yourself:

90-second self-service on-site card collection: After swallowing the card, enter the correct withdrawal password within 90 seconds to get the card from the machine. If you enter the wrong password once within 90 seconds or fail to enter the password after the timeout or press the "Cancel" key on the password keyboard, the machine will operate. Card swallowing processing;

Full-time self-service on-site card collection: Within 7 days after swallowing the card, enter the last 4 digits of the card number + withdrawal password on the original card swallowing device to get the card. If there is a China Merchants Bank branch nearby, please contact the branch staff directly for the fastest processing ;

If there is no China Merchants Bank branch, please dial 95555 to enter manual consultation and feedback, and then go to the designated branch to collect the card.

Tip: If the CMB credit card is swallowed at the CMB ATM, the card will be kept at the designated branch for 7 working days after being taken out. Please collect the card within the specified time after receiving the card collection notice.

If the card is not collected within the time limit, it will be destroyed. Please contact the Credit Card Center to get a new card.

Situation 2: The China Merchants Bank card has been swallowed at another bank’s ATM. It is recommended that you first dial 95555 and select "4" to report the emergency loss to ensure the safety of your funds, and then contact the other bank to inquire about card collection.

If it is inconvenient to go to the other bank to get the card, you can go directly to the counter of our bank with the account opening certificate to apply for a reissue of the card (if it is a credit card, please contact the Credit Card Center at 4008205555 for a reissue).

Situation 3: A card from another bank is swallowed by China Merchants Bank. How to deal with it:

Call the issuing bank’s customer service number to report the loss of the card to ensure account security;

Call China Merchants Bank’s customer service hotline 95555 to verify the card collection. You cannot collect the card on your behalf;

The card will be retained for 21 days after the card is swallowed. If it expires and is not collected, it will be destroyed by the branch;
