Legal analysis: The family will not be affected. Applying for a credit card is a contract between the card owner and the bank. The contract is only valid for both parties. Emergency contacts or family members do not have to bear responsibility. The bank can only call and ask the emergency contact to help find the card owner, but repayment is the card owner's responsibility.

Legal basis: "Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China" Article 313: Anyone who is capable of executing the judgment or ruling of the People's Court but refuses to execute it, if the circumstances are serious, shall be sentenced to not more than three years.
