The Agricultural Bank of China debit card has no annual fee, but a 5 yuan fee will be charged when you open the card.
In addition, if the account balance of the Agricultural Bank of China debit card is less than 300 yuan, a small account management fee will be charged.
The annual bank card fee refers to the annual fixed fee charged by China's commercial banks for bank accounts. The annual bank card fee is collected once a year and the bank debits it from the account.
Starting from August 1, 2017, annual bank card management fees will be cancelled, and charges for some basic financial services of commercial banks will be suspended.
Small account management fees: Bank card annual fees usually refer to debit card annual fees, but in a broad sense they include credit card annual fees, online banking annual fees, etc. Debit cards charge an annual fee, but some banks waive the annual fee. Credit card annual fees are generally charged, and the fees are high, ranging from several hundred.
In fact, as early as 2011, the "Notice on the Exemption of Certain Service Charges by Banking Financial Institutions" required banking financial institutions to exempt RMB personal accounts from July 1 of that year. There are 34 service charges in 11 categories, including annual fees for specific accounts such as salary and small account management fees, bill printing fees, password modification and password reset handling fees, etc.
However, the annual bank fees were not canceled following the notice, and all four major state-owned banks continued to charge annual fees. Medium-sized comprehensive commercial banks such as Minsheng Bank, Industrial Bank, China Everbright Bank, China Merchants Bank, Ping An Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, and CITIC Bank all have no annual fees. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, and China Construction Bank charge an annual fee of about 10 yuan.
Methods to waive annual fees:
Method 1: Take the initiative to apply for a free account from the bank
"About the issuance of government-guided prices and government pricing catalogs for commercial bank services" The Notice stipulates that “for customers who do not enjoy the exemption of account management fees (including small account management fees) and annual fees in their accounts (excluding credit cards), commercial banks should provide customers with an account management fee-free account based on the customer’s application. (Including small account management fees) and annual fee accounts (excluding credit cards and VIP accounts)”
This means that customers have a free account at each commercial bank. It should be noted that although the social security account, which also has no annual fee, does not have a savings function, it is still counted as a free account. Customers who want to apply for annual fee reduction or exemption need to actively apply.
Method 2: Find small city commercial banks
Some small city commercial banks will offer services such as annual fee exemption and transfer fee exemption, such as Longjiang Bank and Harbin Bank. At the same time, you can pay attention to some seasonal promotions of banks, such as free card opening fees for new students during the school season and annual fees during school.
